Mother of planet EARTH, a fragile shield of gas that protects the Earth from the harmful portion of the rays of the sun, thus helping preserve life on the planet.
The United Nations (UN) International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer is celebrated on September 16 every year. This event commemorates the date of the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in 1987. Students of Presidium shared their thoughts that the Earth's ozone layer plays an important role in protecting human health, terrestrial lives, aquatic lives, plants, and the environment. A video was also shown wherein they came to know about the gases which are the root cause of depletion of the ozone layer like Chloroflorocholorine gas and Nitrogen oxide. They came to know about the world of substances that threaten the ozone layer and they all promised not to use the 20 years old electronic products like refrigerators, air conditioners which are made up of CFC gases. Students also drew posters that created awareness regarding ozone layer protection.
