The importance of reading cannot be underestimated, as reading stretches the child’s mind and introduces him/her to a world of wonder that is literature. Presidium school organized a virtual English reading competition for the students of grades 1 to 3, wherein the students were asked to do reading activities. It motivated the children to actively explore their literature book. Furthermore, the competition encouraged students to practice pronunciation and listen to others. They realized that the stories offered many facets like suspense, entertainment, and information, and they were filled with a new curiosity. They read out their stories with clear articulation, correct accentuation, and voice modulation.

International Peace Day is celebrated annually on September 21st around the globe. Presidians marked this day with great ardour. The assembly started with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra. Students shared building peace through education, freedom of expression, intercultural dialogue, respect for human rights and cultural diversity and scientific cooperation, and encouraging all to live a peaceful life. Students passed on this message to their peer group with full conviction. To create awareness, they displayed their artistic skills through an array of beautiful posters. Later, the event consisted of dance performance, which added the entertainment quotient in the assembly. The assembly concluded with a beautiful message that this International Day of Peace, we must all renew our commitment to global solidarity. To sustain peace, we must build it every day, in every society, with every woman and man, by working together towards a better common future for all.

People say that to evolve intellectually; you need to read books. Sure, books play a crucial role in education, but at the same time, one cannot deny the role movies play in educating students. Movies are instructive and also play an essential role in our educational formation. It is also clichéd but true that all work and no play could make Jack a dull boy; we at Presidium organized a virtual Movie Time activity. The movie chosen for students was a cartoon comedy Kids Movie: Toy story 3 wherein students had great fun as they enjoyed every moment of the film. It was an enthralling experience for them. When it was time to end the movie for the day, we faced a lot of requests from students to play on. The peak of excitement was the company of friends and teachers, along with a packet of popcorn and juice. Indeed it was a wonderful experience.

Multiplication games are a great way to incorporate fun-based learning as these activities can boost proficiency in multiplication as it is one of the four elementary mathematical operations of arithmetic. In line with this view, students of grade 3 were introduced to multiplication. Through this activity, students observed the important fact that the multiplication and multiplication designation does not affect the result of the multiplication and can also be visualized as counting objects arranged in rectangle and square. This also helped the students to understand their time table and multiplication lessons. The objective to teach, motivate, and engage students effectively was achieved.

The ozone layer is a fragile shield of gas that protects the Earth from the harmful portion of the sun's rays, thus helping preserve life on the planet. The United Nations' (UN) International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer is celebrated on September 16 every year. Presidium students shared their thoughts that the Earth's ozone layer plays a vital role in protecting human health, terrestrial lives, aquatic lives, plants, and the environment. A video was also shown wherein they came to know about the gases, which are the root cause of the depletion of the ozone layer like Chloroflorocholorine gas and Nitrogen oxide. They came to know about the world of substances that threaten the ozone layer, and they all promised not to use the 20 years old electronic products like refrigerators, air conditioners, which are made up of CFCs gases. Students also drew posters that created awareness regarding ozone layer protection.

Onam is an ancient festival that is one of the rarest festivals celebrated by a complete state, irrespective of religion, caste, and creed. The beauty of the festival lies in its secular fabric. People of all religions, caste, and communities celebrate the festival with equal joy and verve. The festival is celebrated for King Mahabali, whose spirit is said to visit Kerala at Onam's time. The program started with floral decoration followed by the traditional south-Indian food and outfits. Amidst cheers of happiness and excitement, students learned the importance of these special days and imbibed in them pride, cultural oneness, and a sense of belonging that we are one big family.
