The visit to Aashirwad, an old age home came out as a lifelong experience for the Presidians. It was a unique opportunity to share their love, warmth and feelings with the elderly people. The Presidians realize the value of grandparents and the tenderness with which they need to take care of their grandparents. In their reverberating laughter and wrinkled faces, the students saw the vivid reflection of their grandparents. Being in their company for a few hours, they developed a bond that would be cherished for years to come. Students indulged in entertaining the elderly and bringing precious smiles on their faces. It was an enriching experience for all the students to visit the old age home and interact with its inmates.

PRESIDIANS HEAD FOR AN ENRICHING VISIT TO HUMAYUN’S TOMB

The students of grade 3 went to visit the Humayun Tomb, one of the hot spots for visitors in Delhi. Humayun’s tomb is listed amongst the fifteen Heritage sites in India. Students learned about mathematical 3D shapes used in the architecture of this magnificent monument. They also came to know that Red sandstone and White marble was used in enormous quantities for the first time in the construction of this monument. It was indeed a memorable, enriching, and enjoyable experience for all of them.

LITTLE PRESIDIANS BECOME GOOD COMMUNICATORS WITH SHOW & TELL

Presidium (Vivek Vihar) organized a "Show and Tell Competition" for grade nursery and Prep. The students brought pictures, props and toys of their own choice. This activity gave each child a chance to be the centre of attention in the class as he or she spoke a few lines about their favourite topic. The main aim of the competition was to develop their social, emotional and language skills as they learnt to use descriptive language and practice listening skills. This positive social interaction also assisted in boosting their self-esteem. The “Show and Tell Competition” helped to foster public speaking skills and students felt comfortable while talking in front of their peer group. Through this students also learnt to communicate feelings, thoughts and emotions with words. All the students participated actively in the competition.

CELEBRATING THE POWER OF GIRLS ON GIRL CHILD DAY

“If you educate a man, you educate an individual. But if you educate a woman, you educate a nation.” Presidians celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child with enthusiasm. The celebration of the day reflected the successful emergence of girls and young women. Students enacted the role of famous female personalities. Poster making activity was also organised to raise awareness of issues girls are facing internationally, such as education, nutrition, forced child marriage, legal rights, and medical rights.

PRESIDIANS SEEK BLESSINGS FROM LORD RAMA ON DUSSERHA

Dussehra is the most important Hindu festival celebrated every year all over the country. Presidium celebrated Dussehra with great enthusiasm. The festival commemorates the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana, hence it symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. Students depicted scenes from the Ramayana epic. They narrated the battle events between Rama and Ravana through a dramatic act. In the end, everyone seeked blessings of Lord Ram and Sita.

“Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, men cannot live without a spiritual life.”-Buddha Presidians of grade 3 went to visit different religious places to acquire knowledge about the world they live in. Students were able to relate to the differences among various religions and develop a respect for them. They experienced diversity in language, clothes, and culture. They learned the significance of langar, prasad, tilak, jal, etc while exploring temple and gurdwara. This visit to the religious places infused spirituality in Presidians and developed a respect for all religions.

Gandhi jayanti is celebrated across the country on 2nd October to commemorate the birth anniversary of Father of Nation. Mahatma Gandhi played a pivotal role in the freedom struggle of India. His non violent and peaceful methods were the foundation for gaining independence from the British. On this occasion Presidians took part in a play showing the life of Gandhiji while struggling for the Independence of India.They presented the different historical moments like Satyagraha Andolan, Dandi March etc. At the end, students learned about Gandhiji's work and his rules to live life .

They participated in many activities such as puppet making, slogan writing, poems, etc. which threw light on the importance of a healthy heart for a healthy lifestyle. Dance is a wonderful way to introduce young children to the world's rich diversity and enable them to enjoy the art of dance, music, and rhythm. It also provides opportunities for socialization and creates room for self-expression. With this thought and to showcase the hidden talents of the students of grades nursery and prep, Presidium organized an Inter Class Dance Competition under 'Rhyme of the Soul’ academy. The attractive costumes, fluid dance movement, and fascinating props made it tough for the judges to decide the winners. Students' efforts and initiative were appreciated by one and all.

Presidium organised an Intra Class Story Reading Competition for grades 1 to 3. The competition inculcated confidence in the students and developed their oratory and articulation skills.
